Daniel Lanci Obituary

Daniel Richard Lanci, 92, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2025, in Dunnellon, Florida. Born on February 12, 1933, in Shelton, Connecticut, he lived a long and meaningful life marked by dedication to family and service to his country. Daniel proudly served in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant for six years overseas. His time in the military reflected his steadfast commitment and sense of duty-qualities that remained with him throughout his life. He was a devoted husband to Katharina Lanci, who preceded him in death. Together they built a family rooted in love and resilience. Daniel was a father to three children: Deborah Steiner, Thomas Lanci, and Donna Roehl. He was also a cherished grandfather to Lisa Steiner, Dana Alonso, and Kelly Goonan. His legacy continues through his eight great-grandchildren. Daniel experienced the sorrow of losing six beloved family members before him: his wife Katharina; his granddaughters Noel Lanci and Erika Steiner; his mother Ellen Ogden and two brothers David Lanci, and Robert Lanci. Those who knew Daniel will remember him as a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose presence brought strength and continuity across generations. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him. A graveside committal will be held on August 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave Bushnell FL plot number 316.
