Darryl Bacon Sr.

Darryl Wayne Bacon, Sr. was born on May 1, 1962, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Clinton Bacon, Sr. and Fanny Jones Gerton. He was educated in Jefferson County and received a high school diploma from Aaron Trade High School in 1979. Darryl enlisted in the United States Army and served from 1980 to 1984. He met and married his wife, Sherri Woods-Bacon, on July 15, 2002. This union created a blended family with three daughters, two sons and two stepdaughters. Darryl was a loving and devoted husband, father, stepfather, and grandfather. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of twenty-two years, Sherri Woods-Bacon; daughters, Danielle (Jamaal) Alex, Coya D. White and India Thomas; stepdaughters, Ta'kesha Lofton- Dozier (Kwan), Ta'Kea Lofton-Simmons (Terrell); sons, Darryl Wayne Bacon, Jr. and Ed Washington; granddaughters, Joirdin Alex, Deiyon Alex, Jaida Alex, Dyllan Alex, Ya'nique Simmons, Coyriana White, Coyana White, Coron Hale, Daziyah Bacon, Dream Bacon; Sister, in law Valarie woods-Foster (Donnell), Stephanie Woods, Debbie Woods, Jannel Woods, Teresa Woods-Coppock(Brandon), Brother in Law; Deacon Anthony Woods, Keith Woods,(Tocarra) Keven Elmore, Grandsons, Tre White, Keyon White, Darryl Wayne Bacon, III, De'mauri Dozier, Jalani Simmons, Jehari Simmons, Kwan J. Dozier, Prince Dozier; brothers, Clinton Bacon, Jr. and Darrick Gerton; aunts, Mamie Hales, Marilee Jones, Joyce (Ben) Rhones; uncles, James Jones and Matthew Jones; one great grandson, Jaiden Alex Gardner, and a host of cousins and other sorrowing relatives and friends. Public Visitation will be held on Friday, November 29, 2022, at 2:00 until 6:00PM at Summers Funeral Home, 2238 NW 10th Street, Ocala, FL 34475. Celebration of Life Services for Mr. Darryl Bacon, Sr. will be held Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 2:00PM at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, 718 NW 7th St, Ocala, Fl 34475.
