Diane Castongue Obituary

Diane L. Castongue, 81, of Ocala, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025. She was born on August 14, 1944, in Kankakee, Illinois, and spent her life dedicated to family, faith, and community. As a proud graduate of Herscher High School, Diane moved to Florida with her husband and sons, where they made their home and built a life together. She enjoyed a 42 year career in the banking industry, where she was respected for her professionalism, kindness, and strong work ethic. Diane found joy in many things, especially playing Bunco and going to lunch with her large group of retired girlfriends, many of which she has known for over 45 years. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church in Ocala, where her faith remained a cornerstone of her life. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary Castongue, and her parents, Russell and Dorene O'Connor. Diane is survived by her loving sons Brad (Debbie) Castongue and Brian (Rhonda) Castongue; her brothers Dennis (SueAnn) O'Connor and Glen (Marcia) O'Connor; her sister Susan Kuntz; and her cherished grandsons Ryan Castongue and Chad Castongue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church, 4047 NE 21st St, Ocala, FL 34470 at 1:00 pm on Wednesday October 29th 2025. Inurnment will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Diane will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
