Edward Slone Obituary

Edward Slone ( aka "Bud" or "Slone") age 74, of Ocklawaha, Florida passed away Saturday, February 8th, 2025 at his home peacefully in his sleep. He was born in Pine Top, Kentucky on April 10th, 1950 to Ollis Slone and Geraldine Tolliver Slone. He worked as a coal miner and started his own coal mining business in his early 20's. He moved to Florida and created Statewide Materials with his then wife Estelle Slone. After selling the business in 2015, he enjoyed his retirement spending time both in Tennessee and Florida, always creating new projects and staying busy outdoors. He enjoyed his family, a glass of bourbon and a good cigar. Having a kind and generous heart, Slone has left the world a better place. He is GREATLY missed by all. Slone is survived by his wife-Lauren Slone His children- Steven Slone, Justin Slone(Amanda), and Ashley Brown(Kevin) 10 grandchildren- Kendra, Emilee, Jamie, Norah, Dakota, Sophia, Devin, Ryder, Rumer and Collins. 1 great granddaughter- Lainey Sisters-Floneva Gayheart (Curt) and Sharon Rex( Clellie) Preceded in death by sister Mary Ann Mullins and brothers Ollis Daniel Slone and Donald Leon Slone There will be a "Celebration of Life" service at which time has yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers, send donations in his memory to The Salvation Army.
