Martin Keller Obituary

Martin W. Keller, 83 of Fort Myers Florida, passed peacefully on January 7, 2025, in Ocala Florida. Martin was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on February 1, 1941, to James and Nina Keller. Martin graduated from Pine bluff High School in 1959 then went to serve in the United States Air Force from 1961 through 1965. He then went on to receive his Master of Forestry in 1972 from Mississippi State University in 1972 and married Treca Burch the same year. Martin continued his Military career by joining the United States Army Corp. of Engineers as an Environmental Resource Specialist receiving several recognitions for his work in protecting U.S. lands from environmental hazards until his retirement in 1999. He continued working part-time for the Omaha Branch from his home in The Villages Fl until 2006. Martin loved spending time with his family, walking his dogs and playing golf almost daily. He brought a smile to everyone he met and enjoyed helping others and making them laugh. Martin is survived by his partner of 11 years Angela Smith: brother James Keller; two sons Evan and Justin Keller; 4 grandchildren Jade, Gavin, Abigail and Katharine; and a great grandson Jeremiah. The Internment Service is scheduled for February 17th at 11:30 a.m. at Sarasota National Cemetery located at 9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota Florida 34241.
