He was preceded in death by his mother, Bea Hart, father John Bogdue, and brother Richard (Dee) Hansen. I met Mike years ago at a restaurant with his wife. He had the book "We Were Soldiers ". I went over to thank him for his service.

I had served in South Korea with the 1st Cavalry Division at the DMZ. I came back home for ETS. I then joined Law Enforcement and spent the next 53 years working in the criminal justice system.

The 1st Cavalry Division were brought back to the States and trained at Ft. Benning to become the First Air Assault Unit and they were assigned to Vietnam and the Battle of Ia Drang.

Mike was of the finest and most intelligent men I´ve ever known. He used to wear one of the hats we talked about each Veterans Day. I´m going to order one of the hats in honor of him. I won´t be able to attend his funeral but my thoughts and Prayers will be with his family.
