Mildred Wooton Cloninger Obituary

Elizabeth "Betty" WOOTON CLONINGER passed away on 12 June 2025 while recovering from an illness at Royal Oak Rehab facility in Titusville, Florida. Betty was born in La Plata, Maryland to Bill & Mildred WOOTON. Betty was a Secretary Stenographer for the US Air Force for many years at Warner Robins AFB in Georgia and Tyndall AFB at Panama City, Florida. The family spent 3 wonderful and challenging years in Italy as her husband David was assigned to NATO.. Following Italy she lived with her family for 4 years in the Northwest in Olympia, Washington working for the USAF at McChord AFB in Tacoma. Upon her husbands retirement from the Air Force, the family moved to Titusville in 1987 to look out after her mother as Betty's dad had died. Betty accepted a secretarial position with NASA where she worked for another 7 years.IN 1995, Betty retired from NASA and Civil Service. During Betty's retirement years, she enjoyed spending her time with family and was actively involved in her grandchildren's lives. Betty is survived by her husband David CLONINGER, Children, Robert TAYLOR, Gregory (Dee) TAYLOR; & Anthony (Kim) CLONINGER; Grandchildren, Hunter TAYLOR; Jesslyn TAYLOR; Joshua (Trena) CLONINGER; Harrison CLONINGER, her brother, Leo (Gail) WOOTON, and an Uncle Fred WOOTON (Sue). Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Bill & Mildred WOOTON, and her brothers, Billy & Tommy WOOTON. Baldwin Brothers Funeral & Cremation Society of Florida is in charge of arrangements. Final services will be held at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at 2:30pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date!
