Raul Laffitte Obituary

Raul Laffitte, 94, passed away on January 26, 2025, in Cape Coral, Florida. Raul was born in Havana, Cuba, on May 20, 1930. He graduated from college in Cuba as a construction engineer. Raul worked in the family business in Cuba, then moved to the United States in 1960. He went to Ohio and worked for the Macomber's who had done business with his family in Cuba. He couldn't take the cold so Raul moved to Fort Myers, Florida, and worked the Macomber's again at Romac Steel. He opened his own business with Tony Ramos and built a lot in Fort Myers and Cape Coral. He officially retired in 1995, and married Kitty (Fisher) Laffitte on September 23, 1995. Raul played softball for 35 years in the 50+ League. He was inducted into the Softball Hall of Fame. Raul is preceded in death by wife, Carmen; daughter, Maria; father, Jorge Laffitte; mother, Conception Gongoloz Laffitte; brothers, Jorge Laffitte, Adrian Laffitte, and Orlando Laffitte; and sister, Sylvia De La Sieera. Raul is survived by wife, Kitty; son, Oscar and his wife, Susan; sister, Gloria Cabrera; granddaughters, Katryna and Nikki; great grandchildren, Zak, Brianna, and Jazzy; nephews, Orlando, Adrian, Willie, Rualito, Joe, Hector, and Jorge; and nieces, Miriam, Lelita, and Laurie. Sincere thanks to Vitas Hospice for being extremely caring! There will be a celebration of life in the future. The date is to be determined.
