Robert Louis Hart Sr.

Robert L. Hart Sr. (Bob), 82, of Pedro, Florida, passed away on August 16, 2025, in The Villages, Florida. Bob was born in Evansville, Indiana, to Sherby A. Hart and Elenor Payne Stevens on October 16, 1942. Bob married Merla Sue Woods on June 06, 1963, in Evansville, Indiana. Bob enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served for over twenty years, retiring as a Master Sergeant in 1980. After serving his country, Bob and Sue settled down in Pedro, FL. Bob then served the citizens of Marion County as a state-sworn, certified Corrections Officer with the Marion County Sheriff's Office. During Bob's tenure with the Marion County Sheriff's Office, he became a sworn Deputy Sheriff. Bob retired from the Marion County Sheriff's Office after twenty-plus years. Bob returned to the Marion County Sheriff's Office as a Chaplain. Bob, who was an Ordained Minister, served several more years. Bob loved serving his Lord, Family, Country, and Community. Bob also enjoyed baking, designing cakes, and cooking for others. But most of all, Bob enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bob Hart survived by his wife, Sue Hart, and three children, Robin, Lyndy, and Bud. Robin, who is married to Steve Thompson, has two children, Bobbi-Sue and Stephanie. Bobbi-Sue, who is married to Carey Wilson, has five children: Claria Lynn, Carey (Fifth), Abrey, Georgia, and Magnolia. Lyndy, who is married to Dean Keith, has three children: Ralynda (Annie), Daniel, and Larynda. Annie is married to Jordan Miller and has three children, Keeley, Konner, and Kora. Daniel is married to Rachel Kieth and has three children, Lynlie, Axel, and Jaxon. Larynda is married to Evan Judy and has three children, Rhys, Raylyn, and Layton. Bud is married to Bonnie Hart, with whom they have three children: Ryan, Gavin, and Elle. Overall, Bob had 3 children, 8 grandkids, and 14 great-grandkids. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home, 3975 Wedgewood Lane, The Villages, FL 32162. The viewing will be at 9:30 AM, the service starts at 10:30 AM, followed by the graveside at the National Cemetery at 12:30 PM, 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513.
