Rohanie Issurdutt

Rohanie "Betty" Issurdutt, beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, left this world on October 3, 2025 at the age of 87. She was a woman of warmth, strength, and devotion whose love continues to shine through the generations of family she cherished. Born on March 19, 1938 in Guyana, Betty grew up surrounded by the culture and traditions of her community. With courage and determination, she later came to Canada and then America, seeking a better life for her family and creating opportunities that will continue to bless generations to come. Betty's proudest role in life was her family. She will live on through her devoted daughter, Pamela Carlo (husband Vicente Carlo); her grandchildren, Andrew Carlo (wife Kim Carlo) and Sabrina Carlo (husband Jason Sobierajski); and her great-grandsons, Owen Carlo and Cameron Carlo. She was a guiding light, and a woman whose love will never be forgotten. Betty found joy in the moments that made life beautiful. She loved to sing, her voice always reflecting her vibrant spirit, and music brought her comfort, with Ed Sheeran's songs holding a special place in her heart. She enjoyed quiet moments watching romantic movies in English and Hindi on Netflix, and cherished the comfort of her favorite dishes, saltfish and lamb stew. She often said " (mujhe tumase pyaar hai)," which means "I love you" words that will echo in the hearts of those who knew her. Betty now joins in heaven her father, Ramnarine Issurdatt (Messenger John),and her mother, Indardai Issurdatt (Dai). Her legacy is one of love, strength, and family. Though she will be missed deeply, Sister Betty's spirit will live on in the stories shared, the traditions carried forward, and the many lives she touched.
