Gary Consalvi Obituary

Gary Wayne Consalvi's spirit was set free from his physical body and his long battle with Frontotemporal Dementia on April 25, 2025. Although this terrible disease took so much from the man that Gary had become, it was not able to take away his smile or that quick chuckle that was so much of who he truly was. Gary was born on September 22, 1951, to Andrew and Thelma (Millage) Consalvi. He graduated from Candor Central School and started working at National Cash Register (NCR) in Ithaca, NY, where he developed several life-long friendships that continued to stay close playing softball, basketball, bowling and golf. He loved coaching and supporting his three daughters' sports, rarely missing a game. Gary also loved to listen to music, ride his motorcycle, and play machines at a casino. In addition to NCR, Gary worked at Transonic Systems and was on the Board of Trustees for the Village of Candor, NY. Gary is predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Thelma, and his brother, Richard Consalvi. Gary is survived by his wife, Terri (Countryman) Consalvi; daughters and sons-in-law Angela (Kirk) Martin (Owego), Kristen (Kasey) Eiklor (Candor), and Marissa (Ken Little) Consalvi-Little (Candor). Gary loved throwing the football and playing basketball with his grandchildren and is survived by Myla, Teagan, Zach, Ethan, Morgan, Everett, Evie, Lexi, and Noah. Gary is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law Janet (Jim) Lemieux, brother Rick Consalvi, sister-in-law Lori (Dan) Smith, brothers-in-law Tim (Stephanie Rysenga) Countryman and Torrance (Ann Porter) Countryman, several nieces, nephews, and life-long friends. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the wonderful people who took care of Gary at Beechtree Nursing Facility in Ithaca, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Candor EMS, 58 Main Street, Candor, NY 13743, in honor of Gary's memory and his dedication to the community he cherished. A celebration of Gary's life will be held on Saturday, May 31st, at the Catatonk Golf Course located at 71 Golf Club Road Candor, NY 13743. The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. with services starting at 2:00 p.m. Following the celebration, the family will honor Gary's love for the game by taking him out for one more round of golf, a tribute to a man who found joy and camaraderie on the golf course. Gary played a good round of Golf in the NCR league. Always happy and was a great fun to play with him. Miss Gary and his smile for sure. My condolences with his wife and family.
