Alice Marie Sosebee

HENDERSONVILLE – Alice Marie Sosebee, a beloved daughter, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully Monday, January 6, 2025, at the age of 81.
A native of Henderson County, she was the cherished daughter of the late Porter Sosebee and Cora Lee Freeman Sosebee. After the passing of her mother, Marie was lovingly cared for by her devoted guardians, Barbara Gasperson and Henry Gasperson, who provided her with a home filled with love and support for 25 years.
Marie lived a life full of love, faith, and purpose. A born-again Christian, her unwavering love for the Lord and her family was evident in everything she did. Her kind and giving spirit touched everyone she met – she truly never met a stranger. Marie had a passion for making jewelry, which she joyfully gifted to family and friends, bringing smiles to those around her. Marie was also a hard worker, contributing to her community through her employment at Rose's Department Store cafeteria.
Marie was a member of Main Street Baptist Church. Her legacy of love, kindness, and faith will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her warmth and generosity left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know her.
Surviving are numerous cousins in North Carolina, Georgia, and Colorado, as well as numerous friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 13, 2025, in the Kirby Chapel of Shuler Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Mason officiating. Interment will be held in Oakdale Cemetery at a later time.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 2:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.
