Charles pursued a distinguished academic career, attaining a Doctorate and other professional degrees, which exemplified his dedication to learning and personal growth. Charles was a man who cherished the simple joys of life, such as fishing and spending time with family. His life was deeply rooted in his Christian faith, which guided him in all his endeavors. Charles's passion for life was evident in his role as a devoted father, grandfather, and a cherished friend to many across the globe. He was a loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone he met. Preceding him in death were his parents, Lillie A. Hill and Everett Shade; his first wife, Lillie Vernell Griffith-Hill (1999); his sister, Redeana K. Banks; his brother, Everett Shade Jr.; and his second wife, Angelique McKoy-Hill (2022). Charles's legacy continues through his children: Kandice D. Rosa, Charles R. Hill II, Carlotta Hunter, Tiffany McKoy, Shakinah Brooks, Jahnia Jones, and Shaquan Jones. His grandchildren who will carry forward his memory include Blossom Brooks, Hayli Rosa, Emilio Rosa, Tamylah Jackson, Danielle Hill, Jaylin Jackson, Aaliyah Bady, Nashana Davidson, Jordan Hill, Mason Hill, Sevyn Hill, Cartier McKoy, Messiah McKoy, Samaya McKoy, Amir Miller-McKoy, Kai Jones, Isla Jones, and Raya Jones. Charles is also survived by his sisters, Betty Banks and Peggy Shade, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends. Charles's urn was interred at the WC State Veterans Cemetery on October 10, 2025, alongside his late wife, Angelique Mckoy-Hill. With the compassionate assistance of Ray's Funeral & Cremation Service, Charles is now at rest.
