Georgia Hoffman Obituary

Georgia "Gerri" Head Hoffman, 78, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025. She was a native of Middlesboro, KY, and spent most of her adult life in Sarasota, FL. A few years ago, she returned to the Blue Ridge Mountains and lived in Arden, NC. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Myrtle Morgan Head. In addition to her parents, Georgia is preceded in death by four siblings, Maynard and Lee Head, Shelvie Johnson, and Emily Kropf. Geogia is survived by her daughter, Amy Meshberger (Sean), son, Robert Hoffman (Shannon), sister, Cleadia Sutton, her beloved grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Elizabeth Hoffman and Lucian Meshberger, and several nieces and nephews. Georgia was very involved in her children and grandchildren's lives. She enjoyed volunteering in their schools and activities and felt very blessed to be a mother and grandmother. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Geogia's memory, to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, at stjude.org, or 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
