Homer Revis Obituary

Homer Douglas "HD" Revis, 92, of Madison County, NC, went home to be with the Lord on September 27, 2025. Born on November 25, 1932, to Samuel Carl Revis and Juanita Jamerson Revis. HD lived a long and full life centered around faith, family, and friendship. He was a loving father to the late Stevie Revis and a beloved brother to the late Donald, Leroy, and Randy Revis. HD was a devoted husband to his wife, Margaret Revis, and a loving father to Diana Revis and his extended son Gary Rice. He was a beloved brother to Helen Coyle and her husband Daryl and a proud grandfather to Brandon Rice and Lori Monigold and her husband Jon, and the cherished great-grandfather of Kenzie and Kaleb Monigold. He also shared a special bond with his "bonus daughters": Susan, Joy, Janet, and Sue. His love extended to his nephews Jeff, Jim, Joseph, and Jason, as well as his nieces Stephania and Stessie. He was a strong Christian man and member of Flat Creek Baptist Church. HD greeted everyone he met with warmth and kindness. He was full of life, always ready with a smile, and known for his unforgettable sense of humor. He gave those around him playful, original nicknames such as "shugie", "meathead," "peach orchard," "goonie," "yerker," and "free loader," leaving laughter and fond memories wherever he went. He enjoyed simple pleasures such as bowling with friends, casting a line while fishing, and sharing a meal with his family. Above all, HD's love for people reflected his faith and his generous heart. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love, laughter, and faith will carry on through his family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, October 2, 2025 at Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service. Rev. Brian Hanrahan will conduct the service. The burial will follow in the Chandler Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. We would like to thank Mission Hospital, Madison Rehabilitation, Care Partners and Hospice for the wonderful care he received. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Samaritan's Purse or Hospice. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.blueridgefuneralservice.org
