Sandra Chereshkoff Obituary

Sandra Lynn Piotrowski Chereshkoff, age 77, of Green Mountain, North Carolina, concluded her battle with cancer on November 5, 2025 at her daughter's home in Weaverville, NC.
Born in Berwyn, Illinois, on November 2, 1948, to the parents of the late Michael and Betty (Marcks) Piotrowski. In addition to her parents, Sandra is also preceded in death by her husband Ed Chereshkoff Jr., sister Barbara Northam, her dear friend and colleague Gail Leier Deyton. She is survived by her daughters, Amy Chereshkoff and Cary Rodriguez (Marc), dearest sister, Debra Kieras (Randy), her grandchildren Sophia, Adan, Jack and Joe, many nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog Rosie.
Following her graduation from Florida State University, Sandra dedicated her life to teaching Elementary Education. After teaching in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, she and Ed settled in the quaint town of Burnsville, NC in 1972, where she taught at Burnsville Elementary School until retiring in 2005. Sandra enjoyed collecting Red Wing Pottery and searching for treasures while hiking up a mountain or digging in a creek bed. The family respectfully requests that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to Yancey County Humane Society (211 Kind Hearts Way, Burnsville, NC).
