Stan was born on November 5, 1969, in Buncombe Co., to Jerry Lee Kerlee and Ora Lee Kerlee. Stan lived in various places throughout his life including Greenville, SC., Atlanta, Ga., Denver, Co., and San Diego, Ca., before returning home to the Black Mountain/Asheville area. At a later age, Stan returned to college to complete his associate's degree in computer information technology, an achievement he was very proud of. He spent the last 15 years working in the IT field, most recently employed by Meat Commodities in Asheville, NC. He leaves behind his mother, Ora Lee Kerlee; a brother, Rick Kerlee of Greenlee, NC; a sister, Tammy Kerlee of Black Mountain, NC; his beloved dog and constant companion, Daisy Mae, and his extended family of aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Lee Kerlee and his dog that he loved with all his heart, Bandit. He also leaves behind his best friend, Jerry Schaffer, dear friend, Frank Hernandez, and special friend, Kim Weeks, who all assisted in his care over the past few months. Special thanks to Stan's friend Sharon Sperling, for finding a new, loving home, for his dog Daisy. The Kerlee family would like to thank Four Season's Hospice in Hendersonville and the entire staff at The Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC for the loving care they showed Stan in his last days, with special thanks to Hannah and Allison, his social workers that provided care and support not only to Stan, but to his family throughout this difficult time. Stan wished to be cremated, and his ashes launched out to sea in a biodegradable Viking long-ship. His family will have a private ceremony, to be determined at a later date, to honor his wishes. The family respectfully requests that any memorial contributions in Stan's honor be made to the Greenville Humane Society, 305 Airport Road, Greenville, South Carolina 29607.
