Wayne Lasley Obituary

Wayne Emit Lasley, 88, of Romney passed away Thursday, September 4, 2025, at his home. Wayne was born June 15, 1937, in Lebanon, IN, to the late Merle A. and Clara C. (Garner) Lasley. He was a 1955 graduate of Romney High School. Wayne proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1958-1961. On February 14, 1960, he married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Kay Ward at the Romney Methodist Church. They shared 57 years together before her passing on May 25, 2017. Wayne worked for IHC and National Homes before retiring in 1997. He worked at Caterpillar, where he also retired. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion. Wayne and Patricia loved car shows with their 1953 Chevy Belair Convertible. Surviving is his daughter, Ginger (husband, Ron) Winger of Romney; sister, Helen (husband, Malcolm) Stingley of Lafayette; grandson, Justin Winger of Amherst, OH. Along with his wife, Patricia, he is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Howard E. Lasley. Visitation will be held from 4pm – 7pm Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 10am Thursday, September 11th at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Romney.
