Alice Hannah Bitar

Alice Hanna Bitar March 1, 1932 – June 3, 2025 Alice Hanna Bitar, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, and faithful servant of God, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., at the age of 93. Alice was born on March 1, 1932, in Jaffa, Palestine. Her life was marked by grace, strength, and an enduring love for her family and faith. She met her beloved husband, Antoine Bitar, in Syria, where they married and began their journey together. Alice was preceded in death by her husband Antoine, her parents Julia and Hanna Khoury, her brothers and sisters David, Tony, Sophie, Jamileh, and Georgette, and her beloved son Fouad A. Bitar. A woman of deep faith and intellect, Alice was a devoted Greek Orthodox Christian and a proud believer in Jesus Christ. She served her community with integrity, working as an assistant for Arizona Secretary of State Rose Mofford. Her love for reading and gourmet cooking enriched not only her own life but the lives of all who knew her. Alice's legacy lives on through her children Youssef Bitar, Viviane Bitar, and Bassam Bitar; her grandchildren Antoine J. Bitar, Cory M. Bitar, Christian S. Bitar, Sandra Bitar (Testa), Reem Bitar (Parra), and Andrew Bitar; and her great-grandchildren Bentlei Bitar, Amaya Bitar, Hailey Bitar, Julia Bitar, and Vincenzo Luca Testa. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 10th, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. (AZ time) at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, located at 4530 E Gold Dust Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85028, immediately followed by the funeral service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The service will conclude with the burial at Paradise Memorial Gardens, 9300 E Shea Blvd., Scottsdale, AZ 85260, with arrival anticipated at 11:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Alice's memory to St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church. She is at her eternal home with the living God Jesus Christ. Because of Him, we have hope. He is the resurrection and life. May her memory be eternal.
