Alice Stichmann Obituary
Alice Constance Stichmann
Alice was born on April 3,1931 in Milwaukee Wisconsin to Frances (nee (Paluchniak) and Henry Antczak, she went to be with God on January 29, 2025, in Fountain Hills. She is survived by her loving son Lee and his wife Linda of Fountain Hills. Alice was the third of five brothers and sisters and was given the task of seeing them all pass before her along with her life partner, her husband Donald Stichmann whom had passed on the very day (January 29) fourteen years ago! She met Don when he was on leave from the Army in 1949 and was married soon after. When Don was discharged they moved to New Berlin Wisc. and built a home in 1956 where they lived on a one acre lot for the rest of their lives with their best friend Tiffany, the family dog. Back then you could order and buy a home that came delivered in a boxcar and you build it yourself, and that's what they did. All the family members were in construction of some sort so the labor was cheap. Alice and Don were business people and had two businesses. The first was a flower shop. Alice had a love for growing things and the yard was landscaped with flower beds and vegetable gardens, so a flower shop was the logical business, and they operated it for 16 years, but the stresses of freezing winters with delicate flowers, deliveries in snow storms, and 24 hour days around major holidays, took their toll so they took another try and bought a home decorating store which they operated until they decided to retire after 12 years. Alice dedicated herself to eating healthy and exercising daily almost to the time of her passing, and was even doing yoga in the 1950's, before it became trendy. She moved to Fountain Hills following her son Lee in 2013 and never looked back. She was embraced by the people she met as soon as she arrived. The members of the Church of the Ascension were her second family. She was a passionate volunteer and was busy in service almost every day. She was deeply religious and the faith she had, carried her through the toughest of times. She was a caregiver and best friend to everyone she met, always a smile, and zest for living that was contagious. She loved dancing. She would start shuffling around when she heard music playing almost always, and didn't miss any chance to go to see big band music at the American Legion post or concerts in town at fountain park. She was a true patriot and was always at memorial services for veterans. She will be put to rest next to her husband in Highland Memorial Park in her home state of Wisconsin. She is leaving behind some of the best memories of her life here and will be missed by many. Donations will go to her favorite charity St. Vincent DePaul.
