Arlene M. Ehrsam

Arlene M. Ehrsam known to family and friends as "Mimi" passed peacefully on May 19, 2025 at her residence at Atria of Sierra Point at age 97. She was preceded in death by her husband James "Poppie" Ehrsam, they were married for 64 years prior to his passing. Her daughter Pam also preceded her entry to heaven. Born in Hammond, Indiana she was the daughter of Walter and Mildred Leek. She graduated from Hammond High School. She worked first and foremost at home as a loving wife to her husband Jim "Poppie" and as a loving mother to her daughters Pennie and Pam. She also worked as Poppie's "right hand man" assisting him at several businesses they owned during their marriage. During her lifetime she also volunteered at Porter Memorial Hospital in Valparaiso, IN as well as Honor Health Scottsdale Shea for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends as well as gardening. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed by all. She loved dogs of all shapes and sizes and welcomed them into her home as well as her lap. She also loved ladybugs, so anytime you see one know she has come for a visit. She is survived by her daughter Pennie (Tom) Alewelt of Cave Creek, AZ. Grandchildren, Shannon "Stacy" Wittgren (Jon Delameter) Campbell, CA, Heather Tumey (Stephen Visocan) Los Angeles, CA and Ryan Christy (Pflugerville, TX). Great grandchildren, Avery and Zach Tumey, Rylan and Fiona Christy. A Celebration of Life will be held at Hansen Mortuaries 6500 E. Bell Road, Scottsdale, AZ on Friday, July 11th from 1:00-3:00 PM Food and beverages will be served. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to Hospice of the Valley. Mail checks to 1510 E.
