Bruce Hamilton Wylie, age 75, of Sacramento, California, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. Born October 24, 1949, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Bruce lived a life of honor, service, and devotion to those he loved most.
Bruce proudly served in the United States Air Force for over 21 years, rising to the rank of Master Sergeant. His career as a Fire Protection Supervisor took him around the world, where he safeguarded lives and mentored countless young Airmen. Throughout his distinguished service, he was recognized with numerous awards, including the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, the Good Conduct Medal with six Oak Leaf Clusters, the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, and both the Overseas Short and Long Tour Ribbons. His decorations reflect his unwavering dedication, discipline, and loyalty to his country.
Beyond his military service, Bruce was also a third degree black belt, a testament to his strength, perseverance, and commitment to excellence.
Above all, Bruce will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. He was married to the love of his life, Kum Cha Wylie, with whom he shared a deep and enduring bond. He was the proud father of his two sons, Chris Wylie and Richard Wylie, who carry forward his legacy of integrity and hard work. Bruce was a loving grandfather whose grandchildren brought him immense joy and pride. He was also a great son and brother, admired for his loyalty and care to his family throughout his life.
Those who knew Bruce will remember his quiet strength, his loyalty, his love for family, and his heart for helping others. His life was a shining example of honor, resilience, and devotion, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Kum Cha Wylie; his sons, Chris Wylie and Richard Wylie; his beloved grandchildren; his sister Linda Riddick and brothers Zachary Wylie and John Wylie, and extended family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Funeral services are to be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary & Memorial Park in Scottsdale, Arizona. A military honors ceremony follows on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, where Bruce will be laid to rest with the dignity and respect he so greatly earned.
