Calvin Joseph "Cal" Whiting

In Loving Memory of Calvin J. Whiting On our Lord's Day, Sunday, September 7, 2025, Calvin J. Whiting, a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and great-grandfather, went to eternal rest at the age of 90. Cal was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin, to Mrytle and Mearle. Growing up, he eagerly participated in a variety of sports, including football, baseball, hockey, and track. Notably, he played high school football on the Green Bay Packer field and remained an avid Packer fan throughout his life. Cal served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957 as a Corporal, where he trained troops to fight in the Korean War. During his time in the military, he met Patricia (Patty), the love of his life. The two married on August 2, 1958, and shared 66 years of marriage together. Cal and Patty raised six children in East Troy, Wisconsin. He cherished watching his children grow and considered his family to be his greatest pride and joy. Professionally, Cal worked as an accountant at the Credit Union before opening the family business, Signs Now. He was a dedicated member of St. Peter's Church and actively participated in the Knights of Columbus. In his free time, Cal enjoyed jogging, tennis, fishing, canoeing, ice skating, and spending time with family and friends. Upon retiring, Cal and Patty moved to Arizona, where he found pleasure in listening to his Big Band music, walking daily with Patty and their beloved dog Gracie, swimming, pickleball and volunteering at both church and with the Knights of Columbus. This period became even more special when several family members also relocated to Arizona. Cal is preceded in death by his mother Mrytle, father Merle, wife Patty, brothers Ron and Dennis, brother-in-law Roger, and several nieces and nephews. He is survived by his six children: Stephanie, Stacey, Megan, Patrick, Tim, Callie, and their families, including 17 grandchildren,12 great-grandchildren and sister Beverly. Visitation and funeral services will be held at St. Peter's Church in East Troy, Wisconsin.
