Charles Brittin Obituary

Brittin, Charles Arthur, 62 of Chandler, AZ died of heart complications on April 21, 2025. Charles was born in Phoenix, AZ. He attended Christ Church Lutheran School, Martin Lutheran School and Washington High School. Charles began studying Trombone at a young age, eventually playing for the Mesa City Band, and various gigs around the Valley. Charles' career was with the Chandler Unified School District as an HVAC Technician. He was fond of, and a big supporter of the arts and animal welfare organizations. He loved playing the piano, his trombone, disc golf, walks with his dog Sadie, and he always enjoyed a good joke. Charles is preceded in death by his father, Arthur Brittin, and his wife of 26 years, Sonya Missal-Brittin. He is survived by his wife Kristen Kluge and her children, Ori Boreal, John and Jared Kluge, mother Beverly Gubbins-Brittin, sisters, Eleanore Pressey and her husband William Pressey, Julia Brittin, Diana Whiteaker and her husband Paul Whiteaker and brother Walter Brittin, niece, Linda Snelson-Clark and her husband Mike Clark and their children Alessa and Trenton, and niece Audra Usher, and nephew Jaylen Marshall, and his 4-legged menagerie: Sadie, Dinah, Alice, Stanley and Oliver. Services and celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 (Charles' Birthday), 1pm at Lutheran Church of The Master, 2340 W. Cactus Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85029.

I met Charles through music when I moved to Arizona. We both played trombone, and I was amazed at his ability play low notes. Over the years I learned he was an amazing person. I am so glad to know him and will treasure the many good times.
