Knowing Ernst and Helen.... Was not only fun but heart warming.
Ernst was genuinely in love with Helen, proud of their life together...
Got to know Ernst more deeply after he gave me one of his technical books he authored....
His professional and teaching career I believe had and will affect many future generations of humanity.....
Many global companies have depended on his research!
Their Christian love was felt by many at Ascension Lutheran Paradise Valley Arizona.

We enjoyed seeing Helen with Ernst at church. We knew it took great effort for her to be there as her health failed. We send our condolences and prayers for comfort to the family.

I always knew who Helen and Ernst were as I would chat with them on Sundays at church. But I got to know them better during Covid times. The Leuders were having trouble finding appointments to get the vaccine---understandable as it was mostly done online and appointments were filled quickly. I volunteered to "surf the Internet" until I could find them appointments. Once the appointments were secured, Nancy Hurley and I offered to drive them to their appointments----at the time, appointments were scheduled at some very unusual, out-of-the-way places. Theirs was at a restaurant in North Scottsdale that had been closed and turned into a Covid vaccine center! I was privileged to get to know them, even under unusual circumstances. The devotion they had to each other, and to their faith, was inspiring. Rest in peace, Helen.

We enjoyed getting to know both Helen and Ernst. I took a gingerbread house my boys and I had decorated to their home many years ago. This started many interesting talks about both of their distinguished careers. Ernst particularly liked talking to Pat and science and technology.
