Jeffrey Low

Jeffrey Alan Low passed away peacefully on February 2nd, 2025 at the age of 74 surrounded by his loved ones. While his heart problems began at age 47, Jeff never lost his optimism in the face of challenges and continued to live a happy and fulfilling life until his final day. Jeff was born in Hackensack, NJ to Lillian and Max Low on April 8, 1950. Jeff moved to Tucson at the age of eight. His mother Lillian re-married Hillel Rosenzweig who Jeff admired greatly. Jeff attended the University of Arizona on a choral music scholarship and subsequently completed a Masters of Music Theory. While teaching at Arizona Western College in Yuma, Jeff met Andrea Shapiro at an ACDA Conference in San Jose. After a summer teaching together at Interlochen Arts Academy, they got engaged. They were married in December of 1978. Jeff and Andrea moved to Scottsdale, AZ where Jeff decided to go back to school at Arizona State University. He completed a second Masters in Computer Science and got a job in Industrial Engineering where he remained with the same company, for 30 years. Jeff and Andrea had three children Aaron Paul, Allison Sarah, and Hillary Cathryn. Aaron followed in father's musical footsteps and became a composer. Perhaps influenced by Jeff's heart illness, Allison became a cardiac nurse. She married Myles and they have three wonderful children that Jeff adored, Cameron, Donovan and Alexandra. Hillary got her Bachelors in Theater from the University of Hawaii and maintains her love of drama through community theater. Jeff retired at 60 and had 14 years of leisure. He and Andrea traveled the world and had a wonderful life together. He will be greatly missed.
