John Albert Fiaschetti

John Albert Fiaschetti 96, of Surprise, AZ passed away September 14, 2025, after a brief illness. John was born on August 12, 1929, in Danbury, CT to Giovanni and Maria Fiaschetti. He was the youngest of 5 siblings. In 1946, he joined the Air Force and was stationed in Japan for 18 months. In 1951, he began working at Sperry Rail Service and worked his way up from the stockroom to Purchasing Manager, a job from which retired in 1994 after 43 years. In 1964, John married Joyce Mary Clark. The couple had two children, Susan Alice and Michael John. In 1975 the family settled in Naugatuck, CT where John and Joyce lived until moving to Surprise, AZ in 2011. John was a devoted family man and enjoyed many years of youth sports in Naugatuck when his children were playing baseball, softball and football. John enjoyed watching movies both at home and in the theater and enjoyed seeing plays. He was an avid reader following his retirement and read hundreds of books. He loved watching the UCONN women's basketball team play. Has was also a fan of the New York Jets for many years. John is survived by his loving wife Joyce and his daughter Susan Riley (Amy) and their children Jane and Lucy, and his son Michael (Sheila) and their children Ciera and Matthew. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Marjorie Fiaschetti, who lives nearby and has hosted all the family holidays and been a source of support and joy. He is also survived by his nephews Brian (Michelle), and Craig (Sharon) and great nephew Chad. John will be remembered for his "Dad" jokes and overall sense of humor and devotion to his wife and family. We will all miss him deeply.
