Joseph Dominick Sica

"After a while you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul." Joseph was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. After his honorable service with the Marine Corps he planted roots and became one with the trees throughout Northern Arizona. Those who know Joseph knew that he never met a stranger. We will try not to remember him with sadness and tears in our eyes but with the laughter we all shared with him over the years. May his laughter forever echo through the Pines. Whenever we hike a path, swim in a creek, climb a rock or just simply look at the trees we will be reminded of a beautiful soul that was gone too soon. A goofy, loving, hard headed man. Although he would be the first person to put up a good fight, but at the end of the day he was a lover. He thought for his country what he loved and who he loved, and he did so with ferocious passion. Joseph shared his love for music, animals, hiking, and tree climbing with the little ones in his life. He took pride in his work as an arborist with his business Semper Fi Tree Care and as a genuine businessman with his coworkers and clients. We will always remember him as we walk near the trees. With him on our minds, we can have faith that he's walking in our footsteps only half a step behind. Joseph's memory will live on in the hearts of the children whose lives he impacted when they needed him the most. Though he had no biological children, Joseph stepped up to be a father to four strong little girls and one fierce little boy. He remained his sister's Hero throughout and passed his love onto his niece. Joseph tried his best to fill a void in hearts that are too young to understand, but in malleable minds that will never forget. Remember him for all of the love he had and gave. Remember him for all of the love we have for him. He may have left us much too soon, but he'll never leave our hearts.
