In Loving Memory of Kelly Tannaz Knapp 1976 – 2025 It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Kelly Tannaz Knapp, 49, of Surprise, Arizona, on June 16, 2025. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and compassion that touched everyone lucky enough to know her. Kelly was a devoted wife to Dan for 20 years and a proud, loving mother to their daughter Kaitlyn. Her family was everything to her, and she created a home filled with childhood joy surrounded by Disney, in particular Mickey Mouse, who magically lit up the neighborhood each Christmas. Kelly's spirit embraced the wonder of childhood and imagination that spread smiles with her infectious laugh. For over 20 years, Kelly was a dedicated second grade teacher who poured her heart into her students and their families. Former students returned-some with children of their own-still remembering the kindness and connection she brought to their lives. Her impact went far beyond the classroom. She is survived by her husband Dan and daughter Kaitlyn; her parents Alan and Grace Tannaz; her siblings Brant (Beth), Jason (Angie), and Jill (Jay) Jenkins; and many nieces and nephews who adored their Aunt Kelly. Whether baking something sweet, reading a good book, or spending time with those she loved most, Kelly brought joy to everything she did. Her gentle spirit, kind heart, and love for life were unmatched. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 25 at 10:30 a.m. at Camino Del Sol Funeral Chapel, 13738 W Camino Del Sol. Reception to follow. In honor of Kelly's love for Disney and the color blue, guests are encouraged to wear blue or Mickey Mouse attire-anything that celebrates her bright, magical spirit. In lieu of flowers, we have set up a GoFundMe in Mrs. Knapps memory. 100% of the funds will be donated to the Marley Park PTA to support a memorial at Marley Park Elementary and provide resources for students-just as Kelly would have wanted.
