Marcus Carl Dillard- Obituary
March 4, 1997- May 5, 2025
With hearts full of love and sorrow, we celebrate the life of Marcus Carl Dillard, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, brother, and friend. Marcus was a man whose presence filled every space with warmth, laughter, and stories that only he could tell-each one full of heart, humor, and honesty.
Born in Glendale, Arizona, Marcus carried with him a deep pride in his roots and in the work he did. Before joining the military, he made a name for himself as a master plumber, a title he wore with pride and joy, often sharing his knowledge with anyone who would listen (and even those who didn't know they needed to). His work ethic, loyalty, and commitment to excellence were evident in everything he touched.
In 2022, Marcus began a new chapter of service by joining the United States Air Force. Though he joined later than many of his peers, he rose quickly through the ranks, earning his 5-skill level early and being selected for Senior Airman Below the Zone, a mark of distinction for his performance and dedication. Even after a service-related injury shifted his role, Marcus never slowed down-he pivoted. He became a pillar of support in his unit, restructuring programs, elevating quality of life, and stepping up to lead wherever he was needed. He also proudly served as Vice President of the Lake Haven Booster Club and represented the Broadway Housing Community Council, always advocating for others.
But beyond all the roles he played in work and service, Marcus's greatest joy and purpose was in his family. He was a deeply loving and proud husband to his wife, Kaila, and a devoted father to their two beautiful children, Alijah (4) and Aria (1). Everything Marcus did-every sacrifice, every effort-was for them. His face lit up when he spoke about his kids, and the way he loved his family was nothing short of inspiring.
Marcus was the kind of person who made people feel seen and valued. He left a mark not just through achievements, but through the way he lifted others up and showed up with his whole heart.
Marcus leaves behind Father Robert (Jill) Dillard, Mother Jacquelyn Blunt, siblings Nathan Dillard, Emma Hurley, Camille Dillard, Kailynn Peters, Marci Crawford, Grandparents Doug and Charon Dillard, Grandparents Michael and Gisele Michelsen, and Great Grandparents Gerri & Tim Sylvester. Marcus was preceded in death by his loving Grandfather, Robert Carl Dillard.
Though his time here was far too short, Marcus's impact will echo for generations. He was a man of passion, perseverance, and boundless love.
He is deeply loved. He is profoundly missed.
And he will never, ever be forgotten.
