Marian Horan Obituary

Marian Dolores (Lund) Horan, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and cherished friend, was born on August 15, 1928, in Lancaster, Minnesota, to August and Edith Lindquist. She passed away surrounded by family on Sept. 23, 2025 at the age of 97 at her home in Surprise AZ. An excellent student, Marian graduated as salutatorian of the Lancaster High School Class of 1946. Following World War II, Marian met Merle Lund upon his return from military service. They were married on December 15, 1951, in Lancaster and settled in Rochester, Minnesota, in 1957, where they raised their family. Merle passed away on August 8, 1982. Marian devoted many years to homemaking before joining the workforce, eventually retiring from Dayton's department store, where she excelled in furniture sales. Marian also had a beautiful singing voice and shared this talent as a member of the Zumbro Valley Sweet Adeline's for many years. Marian met Jim Horan at a widowed person's picnic in Rochester. Their connection blossomed into marriage on June 9, 1990. Together, they made their homes in Rochester and Sun City West, AZ before moving to Sun City West permanently in 1995. Jim passed away on July 11, 1998. From July 2012 until her passing, Marian shared her life with her devoted companion, Ed Eustice. They lived in Sun City West and then at The Park Independent Living in Surprise, AZ. Marian's greatest joy was her family. She was deeply rooted in her Christian faith and found strength and purpose in her church community. She loved spending time with friends at The Park, playing cards, working on jigsaw puzzles, and volunteering at the Sun City West Thrift Store. She is survived by her children: Tim Lund (Deb Wempen), Chuck Lund (Diane), and Jennifer Rose (Stephen); her sister Lois Cederholm; her significant other Ed Eustice; grandchildren Matt Lund and Mitch Lund (Katie), Alison Ullrich (Andrew) and Eric Lund (Ashley), and Breanna Weisbrod (Dan); and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her former daughter-in-law, Barb Lund. Marian was preceded in death by her husband Merle, her husband Jim, her son Tom, her grandson Dan, her granddaughter Sarah and her sister Evelyn. Marian touched many lives with her warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit. She will be deeply missed by her family and the many friends who were blessed to know her.
