Mike Songhurst Obituary

Mike Songhurst died peacefully in Sun City, Arizona on August 2, 2025 from complications of a spinal stroke, He was born in Spokane, Washington on October 19, 1958 to Christopher "Ted " and Bonnie Songhurst. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Songhurst, son, Danny Songhurst (Kristine) and granddaughters, Aiko and Maya; brother, Brad (Karen), sister, Abbygale George, brother, Gary Songhurst, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mike lived most of his life in Washington state before moving to Glendale, Arizona with his wife, Cheryl, in 2014. When in Spokane, Washington, he was a talented athlete in high school football (defensive captain) and baseball. After high school, he attended Bellevue Community College for 1 year and then successfully worked in real estate and time share sales . When in Arizona, he pursued his passion of playing golf and entered numerous golf tournments with many placings in the top 10. He was very gifted with his skill and athleticism. One of Mike's greatest joys was feeding and caring for his three cats as if they were his own children. After they passed on, his dog, Bindi, was a great souce of comfort in his illness, rarely leaving his side. He loved all sports, riding his bike, and was an excellent cook. In his later years, his faith sustained him greatly and he looked forward to going home to heaven to be with the Lord. In honor of his memory, donations can be made to any animal rescue/adoption organization.
