Nicole Donati

Nicole Denise Donati (Chartier) passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, June 20th. She was 78. A Sun City West native for 20 years, she and her late husband Donald J Donati loved the Arizona climate, the friendly people of the city, and the southwest lifestyle. Born July 21, 1946, in Sherbrooke Quebec, Canada. Nicole was the youngest amongst six brothers and sisters. She met Donald through her sister Ginette, who married his best friend. They both served in the US Air Force together and were stationed in Maine. Eventually married in 1969, they moved to Pawtucket RI, where they welcomed daughters Nadine and Christina into the world. While raising her daughters, she was an active member of the Parent Teachers Association, an active mom in the Girl Scouts of America, and loved coaching Youth Bowling at East Providence Lanes. She was also a member of the Woman's Bowling Association where she met many life-long friends. Once her daughters were in school full time, she was eager to go back to work. Nicole - who was a very organized, strong-willed woman, worked as an insurance agent for several decades until electing to retire from Gardner & Whitely in early 2005. Upon settling in Sun City West, Nicole filled her time with numerous activities, including hosting and attending friends' get-togethers, playing Wii bowling, bocce, going to the casinos, walking, and was very involved in the SCW Ceramics Club where she was able to be her most creative! Nicole is survived by her loving daughters Nadine (Donati) Akey and Christina (Donati) Sprows, sons-in-law Mark Akey and Ben Sprows, grandsons Adam Donati, Aaron Donati, Spencer Sprows, Sawyer Sprows, her bother Rejean, and numerous nieces and nephews from her beautiful Canadian family as well as her many friends both in RI and AZ. A memorial service will be held on Friday July 25, 2025, at 11am at the Camino del Sol Funeral Chapel located at 13738 West Camino Del Sol Dr. Sun City West AZ.
