Richard Dayney Obituary

Richard Wade Dayney, a devoted family man and decorated Marine veteran, passed away on September 4, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on August 25, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois, Richard served in the Marines during the Korean War, where he received a Purple Heart for his bravery. Richard is survived by his loving wife Naomi, his children Eugene and Derrick. He leaves behind a stepfamily of seven, as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren who cherished him. Sadly, Richard's parents, Lucille Schroeder and John Dayney, and daughter Karen, sons Scott and Gregg preceded him in death. Richard's life was filled with joy, love, and adventure. He enjoyed playing golf, riding his bicycle, trying his luck at the casino, and savoring meals at the Golden Corral. His passions brought him happiness, and his family was always at the center of his life. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
