Shirley Jean Dobson

Shirley "Namie" Dobson 1935 - 2025 Shirley Jean Dobson passed away at the age of 90, on March 19, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Shirley Alex was born on February 12, 1935 in Cut Bank, Montana. She married Dobbie Dobson in 1953 and had two daughters, Renee and Rhonda. In 1968, the family moved to Chandler, AZ to pursue a warmer climate for their daughter who suffered from asthma. Shirley was a dedicated employee of Arizona Machinery for 17 years. She worked as a cashier, parts clerk and inventory control. She loved all things John Deere! In retirement, Shirley and Dobbie loved to travel the US in their motor home, visiting family from coast to coast! Shirley and Dobbie were also longtime members of the Elks Club. Her true passions were her family and her home. She loved decorating, houseplants, cooking and having company. She was always ready to eat spicy chicken wings, or to go out dancing to her favorite country music! She loved spending time with her grandchildren (who coined the name Namie) and great grandchildren. They were all blessed to be able to spend so many wonderful years listening to her stories and playing together. Shirley will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was tough, witty, caring, and truly a one of a kind lady. Shirley is survived by her sisters Darlene Kohlbeck and Geri Alex, her brothers Dick Alex and Robert Alex, her daughter Rhonda, her grandchildren Lisa Rodrigues, Meghan Woods, and Tyler Cuen, and her four great grandchildren; Presley, Harper and Orion Woods, and Jacob Rodruguez. Arrangements for a celebration of life ceremony are pending at this time.
