Steven Fraser Obituary

Steve was a reserved and gentle spirit who exuded warmth, genuineness and authenticity to all around him. He was a gift from God taken far too soon on September 23 at the age of 68 after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's. His tender soul will never be forgotten. A graduate of the University of Denver's School of Hospitality, his career in the hotel business was a driving and passionate force in his life for over 4 decades. From opening hotels in Dallas and Boston to being part of Executive Teams at properties in Toronto, Las Vegas, Scottsdale and DC, working in hospitality brought Steve unending joy. He treated every colleague or employee who crossed his path with respect and admiration no matter what their title or position. He treated people everywhere that way throughout his life. That quality was what people saw and fell in love with when they met Steve. He touched their hearts with his gentle spirit. This is the legacy Steve leaves behind. And what a legacy to leave. He leaves behind his beloved wife Donna of 17 years in Scottsdale and his beloved Mom Virginia Fraser of Brewster, MA, 2 brothers Peter of Cape Cod and Mark/Helen of Florida. He also leaves 2 sisters-in laws Kathleen Townsend of The Villages, Florida and Denise/Colin of Marshfield, Massachusetts. He is predeceased by his Dad David Fraser and dear Aunts and Uncles. He also leaves 2 Nieces Morgan and Kelsey and a great niece Daphne and great nephew Brennan all of whom he treasured. The friends Steve had span the globe. In his short but precious life, he met countless people all over the country in his career forming long and lasting friendships. In his final days, both family and friends visited him from near and far with loving hearts and compassion. We will never forget the trips from Miami, Orlando, Mexico, Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, New Mexico, California, New England, Jackson Hole, Boise, and Chicago among other places. These visits lifted him. There will be a Memorial Service at Mountain View Presbyterian Church in Scottsdale on Saturday October 11 @ 3 PM. Steve and Donna were blessed to have lived a joyous life on both Coasts. A service will be held in the Boston area sometime in Spring 2026. Please join us in remembering him soon in the West or the East. If interested, donations can be made to the Michael J Fox The Parkinson's Foundation, the Muhammad Ali Parkinson's Center in Phoenix or to Hospice of the Valley, Phoenix who provided such loving care in Steve's final days. Most importantly, reach out to someone you know or don't know with a kind and loving gesture as Steve would have done.
