Sue Evelyn Bradley

Sue Evelyn Bradley, age 93, was promoted to heaven on January 8, 2025. She was born in Owenton, Kentucky, to Bertha Mae (Ballard) and Wheatley Holbert. She graduated from Reading High School in Reading, Ohio. Her lifetime love, Eldridge "Jake" Bradley, her parents, her sisters Edna, Jennie, Mildred and Sally and her brother Ernest preceded her in death. Mom is survived by her 5 children and their spouses; Rebecca Banks, Dana (Gary) Moeller, Cindy (Dennis) Paul, Brian (Linda) Bradley, and Phil (Katie) Bradley, as well as 16 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Sue and Jake (aka Mom and Dad) enjoyed 65 years of marriage together. Dad was in the Army; they married on November 11, 1951. They moved from Goshen, Ohio to Phoenix, AZ in 1985. Dad's death in 2016 separated them for a few years but we like to think they are laughing, fishing, and touring heaven together. Mom's hobbies included gardening, canning, crafts, sewing, drawing, reading, coloring and painting. She made some beautiful ornaments, wall hangings, and clothing, including formal attire and wedding gowns. Her favorite hobby was traveling with Dad and visiting with her friends and family. Mom was a member of First Southern Baptist Church of Glendale. She sang in church choirs all of her life, served in the nurseries and other ministries, was a Girl Scout as a child and a Scout leader as an adult. She had quite a sense of humor and we will miss her words of wisdom and spirited opinion. Mom raised her 5 children to love and respect God, country, parents, elders, and the wooden spoon. A dear friend said, "Life is not forever, but love is". Mom had a lot of love for everyone and we loved her. We will miss her terribly, but are comforted knowing that Mom is at peace with The Lord. Psalm 46:10 (NIV) was her favorite Bible verse; "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."
