Theresa Worth Obituary
Theresa Ann Worth (Terry) was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Dec. 2, 1935 to Joseph and Anna Glancey.
She was proud of her Irish-Polish heritage, and embraced throughout her whole life many of the traditions and important practices she and her extended family shared during the early years of her life. She attended St. Ladislaus Grade School and graduated from Little Flower High School with the class of 1953. She then achieved a bachelor's degree in nursing in 1957 from the Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing affiliated with Villanova University.
In 1957, Terry married and began raising a family with her husband Leonard. She devoted her life to being a wife and mother while volunteering in her church, family schools, and community service organizations. Terry is survived by her children Greg, Geoff, Andy, Tim, Maureen, Lisa, and Mike, – whom she referred to as her seven roses – and by their spouses, her eleven grandchildren and her brother Thomas Glancey.
Throughout her long life, she was always focused on her own improvement and ways to advance her abilities to respond to the challenges of life and to be of more service to those around her. This she did through course curriculums she had been unable to fulfill while raising a family, through religious affiliated organizations, and in her simple manner of being aware and responding to the immediate needs of family, neighbors and the many wider community members she encountered.
Some of the many volunteer activities she became a part of over the years included Ministry of Care Visitations, Red Cross, Elementary and High School Health Clinics, Youth Groups and Sports Teams, NAMI, Community Hospice, and OLPH Sodality. After the children were grown, she fulfilled a long time goal and was professed as a Secular Franciscan, a lay ministry group, to pray and serve others following the example of St. Francis of Assisi in living the gospel message.
Terry returned to our Lord and Savior on May 28, 2025, for a well deserved reunion with the One she had served through a life of selfless generosity and care for others. She was very devoted to her immediate family and has our eternal gratitude for all we learned from her and for her many gentle ways of making an enormous difference at the right moment.
