Thomas McMurray Baker October 3, 1959 – August 15, 2025 Thomas McMurray Baker, 65, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025. Born in Ohio on October 3, 1959, Thomas was the son of Wallace and Elizabeth Baker. Thomas dedicated his life to service and integrity. He was admitted to the State Bar on December 5, 1990, and went on to serve as a lawyer for 33 years. Following in the footsteps of his father, Thomas continued and carried forward his practice after his passing, honoring his legacy with the same humility and intelligence that defined his own career. Earlier in life, Thomas proudly served in the National Guard artillery unit, where he was recognized as the Outstanding Candidate during basic training. He also completed EMT training and served as a Reserve Sheriff's Deputy, reflecting his lifelong commitment to community and country. Beyond his career and service, Tom had many passions. He was deeply fascinated by military aircraft, and he found joy in collecting and learning about firearms. He also had a tremendous love for animals, especially his loyal dogs Bear and Molly and his cat Pippers, who brought him companionship and comfort. Those who knew Thomas will remember him as kind, stoic, and deeply humble. He carried himself with quiet strength and unwavering integrity, touching the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Thomas is survived by his daughter, Leigha Giamundo; his brother, Wallace John Baker; and his sister, Mary Martin, along with Mary's children: Jennifer, Joseph, Elizabeth, and Nicole. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Elizabeth Baker. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary and Cemetery, 6500 E Bell Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85254.
