Tim Goddard

Tim Goddard died on Sunday September 7th. Born in Tucson in 1949, he was the son of former Arizona Governor Sam and Judy Goddard. He attended public schools in Tucson and the Webb School in Claremont California before graduating from Prescott College in 1971. Tim earned a master's in English Literature and a law degree from Arizona State University. Tim was Director of the Arizona Senior Citizens Law Project for over 25 years, providing legal services for senior citizens, most of whom could not afford legal representation. His work received national recognition from the American Bar Association in 2015 when he received the John H. Pickering Achievement Award. Tim was also honored with a Caring Spirit Award from the Area Agency on Aging. Tim loved music. He was an accomplished musician, playing the guitar and piano. He knew the lyrics to just about any song you could name, the 60's and 70's were his specialty. In his final months, Tim enjoyed attending the music program at Hospice of the Valley dementia campus where he led the rhythm section. Tim cared deeply about his family, the many cats and dogs that found their way to the Goddard home, and the beauty of the Sonoran Desert. Tim had a wry sense of humor and never met an ice cream flavor he didn't like. Tim is survived by his brothers, Terry Goddard (Monica) and Bill Goddard (Gail); nephews Sam Goddard (Audrey) and Kevin Goddard; and grandniece Ingrid Goddard.
