Wade Sobotka Obituary
Wade Richard Sobotka, 27, of Scottsdale, Arizona, gained his angel wings on April 10, 2025, with his parents and brother by his side. Wade was born on January 22, 1998, in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, and moved with his family to Fountain Hills, Arizona, in 2002. Wade lost his long battle with mental illness, but his heart and body were so strong that he survived long enough on support for him to be lovingly surrounded by his parents and brother until he peacefully passed on. We have no idea how to carry on knowing that we will never see his bright beautiful smile again, hear his big laughs, or feel his gentle, long hugs that he loved so much to receive and to give. Despite the struggle in his later years, Wade had a brilliant mind and a huge passion for physical fitness. He was a voracious reader even as a child, reading everything from philosophy and history to college-level physiology textbooks. He devoted much of his childhood to pursuing excellence in soccer, and, as an adult, excelled as a Personal Trainer, most recently for Temple Fitness in Scottsdale. He also worked for two years at the International School of Arizona, where he adored the children and was adored by them and their parents. He had such a big heart, a deep spiritual love of God, and a desire to do great things - including his dream to "save the universe." Wade loved his family beyond measure and was loved so much in return. In the end, he became the hero he had always aspired to be by saving the lives of others, as we followed through on his adamant wish to be an organ donor. It gives us some comfort knowing that, in this way, Wade lives on. Beyond his last good deed on earth, we know that he is now one of Heaven's biggest, strongest, and brightest angels and that he is looking over and protecting those in need, just as he did in life. Wade is survived by his mother, Andrea Briggs, his father Richard Sobotka, his brother Austin Sobotka, his stepfather Mark Briggs, his grandmother Dianne Hanson, aunts, uncles, and many cousins. Wade loved flowers but also had a soft heart for those in need. A donation to any cause that helps the homeless, children, military vets, or those that struggle as he did is appreciated - both by us and by him.
A celebration of life for our sweet Wade is planned for Saturday, April 19, at 2 p.m. at Messinger's Chapel, 12065 N. Saguaro Drive, here in Fountain Hills - the town he grew up in.
