Alexander Hughes Obituary
Alexander Giomi Hughes, born in Albuquerque on October 30, 1984, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on September 14. 2024, while visiting friends in New York City from undiagnosed heart disease.
If you ever met him, you remembered him. If you were ever friends with him, you loved him. He was an incredible son, the staunchest friend, a loving bulldog father, and a seeker of all things hilarious and joyful!!! As an only child, Alex possessed the talent to create family with whoever he met and wherever he went. And he went everywhere!
He was preceded in death by his doting grandparents, Marcello and Ioli Giomi, Lance and Audrey Hughes; and his furry best friend, travel companion, and English Bulldog extraordinaire, Floyd Maywoofer.
He leaves behind heartbroken parents Scott Hughes and Sylvia Giomi, loving aunts and uncles, countless cousins, a plethora of best friends, and his newest pride and joy, French Bulldog Charles Dogaulle (Charlie).
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Mt. Calvary Cemetery located at 1900 Edith NE, Albuquerque, NM. The service will be held in the Garden of Hope section at 10:30 AM, followed by a celebration of his life at a location to be determined. Memorial services are also being planned in Houston, TX and New York City.
