I miss BarJi so much. It was always a joy to visit her, and always so hospitable. She always offered coffee and snacks and invited people for holiday meals. It meant the world to me as our mom and aunts had passed away to have family who cared. I loved talking with her, she was completely herself she didn't try to be anybody or anything that she wasn't. She wasn't always demonstrative, but you couldn't help but feel loved in her presence. I will always think of her kindness and try to be as good a person as she was.

My deepest condolences to the Chavez family on the passing of your Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother. My encounter with Barbara were at special occasions, christenings and graduations. To me, Barbara was a grand lady, she had a very gentle and soft spoken mannerism that made one feel appreciated while engaging in a conversation with her. In times of sorrow, always remember the special moments she shared with you, and how she helped you weave the fabric of your own life with the help of her guidance. May she rest in peace!

I was so sad to hear that my cousin Barbara Jean had passed away. She was such a blessing to my family. She was always busy cleaning, embroidering, crocheting, or cooking, bit she always made us welcome. She would stop everything and invite us into her kitchen to have coffee and sweets, usually something homemade. She made everybody who visited feel special. I know she loved her children, and grandchildren and was so proud to be a great grandmother. She was sometimes impatient and curt with family members, but it didn't mean she didn't love them. She was a great cook making jars and jars of salsa, jams and jellies and always sent something home with us whenever we visited. She always invited us to eat at her house for holidays. She loved having everyone over for a delicious holiday meal and she made the BEST biscochitos! We will miss her tremendously.
May God comfort you as you mourn, you will be in our prayers. I think that she would tell us to that she was ready to be with Juan, Randy, Sandra and Juanita and looked forward to seeing us when it's our time to go, but in the meantime to keep going on with our lives. We love you! Beverly Tafoya-Dominguez and Larry Dominguez
