Conrado Romero Obituary
Conrado Romero "Roddy" was born December 10, 1952 in Las Vegas, New Mexico. He went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 21, 2016 in Albuquerque at the age of 63. Roddy will be remembered as a devout Catholic who was a loving brother, husband, father and grandpa who was a dedicated Lobo fan and an unforgettable BBQ'er. He was a man of strong faith who fought through his many illnesses and will be greatly missed. Roddy was a 1971 graduate of Robertson High School, attended Highlands University, was president of St. Francis Xavier Guadalupanos, was a member of St. Vincent de Paul and retired from Lovelace Research after more than 20 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his father, Conrado Romero; his mother, Bessie Romero; brother, Polo Romero and by his aunt, Lucy Guzman.
Roddy is survived by his loving wife, Lorie Romero of Albuquerque; son, Carlos Romero and wife Marlene of San Diego, CA; daughters, Andrea Romero and Rachael Romero; grandchildren, Marissa Romero, Reyez Romero, Caylee Romero and Carley Romero; sister, Mary Alice Roybal and husband Jim; brother, Nick Romero and wife Gloria as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends who loved and will miss him.
Services will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 816 Broadway Blvd. SE. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 7:00pm with a viewing beginning at 6:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 10:00 am with burial following at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Reyez Romero, Jerry Morris, Claudio Bachicha, Nick Romero, Nicky Romero, Michael Roybal and Jimmy Roybal. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th ST. NW. ABQ. 505-343-8008.
