Daniel Armer Obituary

Daniel Mark Armer

Daniel Mark Armer, age 64, left this world for a new adventure on Thursday, September 22, 2022. He was born to Frank and Elaine Armer on July 4, 1958. A firecracker since the day he was born, Dan will be fondly remembered for his quick wit, mischievous sense of humor, and caring, gentle heart.

A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Dan enjoyed a long and distinguished career with the State of New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department. He was profoundly admired by his coworkers for his intelligence, strong work ethic, compassion, empathy, and of course all his pranks.

Dan was also a dedicated athlete. He completed several marathons and triathlons, including the Duke City Marathon. He was most at home on the Sandia Mountains and was fond of hiking the La Luz trail, cross country skiing, and mountain biking.

Dan is survived by his five brothers and their spouses; Tom and Valerie Armer, Steve Armer, Jim and Priscilla Armer, Pat and Melanie Armer, and Tim Armer. Dan will forever hold the title of "Favorite Uncle", leaving a profound impact on his 15 nieces and nephews and 12 great-nieces and nephews who will cherish all the joyous adventures he took them on. His family is determined to carry on his legacy of curiosity and to spread happiness in his honor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Elaine Armer, his uncles Robert and Donald Kramer, and his deeply beloved aunt, Dorothy Kramer.

Dan's family invites you to share in a celebration of his life. A rosary will be held at 10:30 AM on October 12, 2022 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 811 Guaymas Pl NE. A mass of Christian burial will be held immediately thereafter followed by a reception at Dan's home.

Dan you had a sense of humor even in early elementary school. You dramatically told me that your calico cat had 29 calico kittens and I believed you ! I told my father and he just laughed. I did not figure it out until so much later. LOL ! Sounds like you had a full life of adventure. Wish that I would have know you better. Life, death such a reality. My sincere condolences to your family.

To family and friends of Dan... I worked with Dan for a couple of years in Santa Fe. We traveled on the job. We became friends easily and even had a time on a hike on the Ssndia mountain. I stayed at his house one night that summer. We had to wake early so that we could get started early. We hiked from one end of the Sandra's, starting on the south side near I - 40 and ending up at a Placitas park area. It took us about 14 hours, a span of 20 miles.... It wad a good time and will always be a good memory. On the job he was probably closest to Drucie, our secretary at the time. She had been in close communication with Dan over these last months... M y thoughts and prayers are with the family at thus time. He is now at peace in the calm presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ the Son of God. He gave His life so that we could have eternal life with Him. God Bless all of you...

I worked with Dan for a couple of years in Santa Fe.. we had some travel work time together... I know he enjoyed running, biking and hiking. He and I hiked the Sandia mountain ridge years ago from one end to the other. I stayed over at his house so that we could get an early start like at 4 in the morning. We made that hike in 14 hours. It was a good day and a great memory of mine... I am so sorry that Dan had to go through all that he did over the last couple of years... He was a good man wirh hopes of retiring to hang out with friends here in Santa Fe. He was probably closest to Drucie our secretary and the one person that kept us in line at work. My heart and certainly my prayers go out to each of the family... He will be remembered when I spend my time on the trails... God now has Dan in the palm of his hands welcoming him home... His burdens are over and with the grace of God and the gift of His Son Jesus Dan is forever alive and well... God Bless you all, Steve Alarid...
