Daniél "Dan" Holguín, 79, of Las Vegas, New Mexico passed away on March 15, 2024, after a slow and progressive decline in his health.

Dan is predeceased by his parents, Ina Holguín and Daniél Holguín, his sister, Rosella Holguín, and his father and mother-in-law, Lupe and Lillian Jacoby Trujillo. Left to celebrate his memory are his wife, Carmen Holguín, his daughter, Martina Holguín, his three sisters, Lorenza and Jess Bautista, and children and grandchildren; Eva and Leon Boyden, and children and grandchildren; Edna Holguín, her daughter Teresa and her fiancé, Armando Fresquez; his brother, Mario; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Lou Trujillo and children and grandchildren, Henry and Theresa Trujillo and children and grandchildren, Manny and Margaret Trujillo and children and grandchildren, Anna and Joseph Espinoza, Cathy Shook, special nephew, Marcos Espinoza; and dear friends Luis Gonzales and Stephen Apodaca; along with additional family and many close friends.

In typical Dan fashion, there are no services planned, certainly no pomp and circumstance. A celebration of life will be held at Trombino's in Albuquerque at noon on April 7, 2024. In lieu of flowers and in honor of Dan and his love for dogs, we ask that donations be directed toward NMDOG

Dan proudly adopted dogs and cats from both organizations and their care kept him going in his later years. In remembrance, Dan would have hoped that you do an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness for some poor unfortunate soul in his name. Throughout his life, Dan would remark, "if we're not here to help one another, then what the h*ll are we here for."
