Dean Morales Obituary
Dean Andre Morales, age 48, beloved father, son, brother, friend and musician, passed suddenly on April 8, 2017.
Born in Rapid City, S.D. on May 5, 1968, Dean graduated from Valley High School in Albuquerque and earned an Associate's Degree from the University of NM. Being a former gymnast, he was founder/co-owner of SAGA (Sandia Acrobatic Gymnastics Academy) and worked as the Boys Competitive Director and Coach at Gold Cup Gymnastics. He enjoyed taking his athletes to compete all over the U.S. and was proud to have coached many young gymnasts to high level awards and college scholarships.
A devout Catholic, he was a member of The ACTS Community and church choir at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary. Being very artistic, he drew beautifully and made rosaries for family and friends. Dean was blessed with a powerful voice and his many friends enjoyed his talent, humor and tremendous kindness. His sons were his pride and joy, and time spent with them were the happiest moments of his life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Morales, and is survived by his two sons, Lucien and Jacob; mother, Rebecca; brother, Saul; sister, Yvette Sanchez; Godfather, Victor Torres, Godmother, Brenda Dabney; and beloved dog, Samson.
Rosary, followed by Mass, is Tuesday, April 18 at 10:15 am at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Burial, at Sunset Memorial Park, will follow and a reception will be held at 1:30pm at Gold Cup Gymnastics.
