Deborah Pappe Obituary

Deborah Ann Pappe

Deborah Ann (Brase) Pappe, passed away peacefully July 1, 2024 after living with Alzheimer's disease for the past seven years. Debby was born May 17, 1947, to the Reverend Arnold and Eudora Brase of Enid, Oklahoma. Raised in Roswell, New Mexico, she graduated from Roswell High School in 1965, attended Valparaiso University, and graduated in 1970 from Lutheran School of Nursing in St. Louis, Missouri as a Registered Nurse. She spent 40 years as a Registered Nurse working in the ICU, CCU, and the ER.

Married to Joe in 1971, Debby spent over 26 years as an Air Force wife, enduring thirteen moves, while raising her children and continuing to work as a nurse at most of their duty assignments. She spent the last nine years of her career at the New Mexico Heart Hospital in Albuquerque, where her husband had retired. Debby and Joe spent their retirement years traveling throughout Europe and South America, doing volunteer work, and being grandparents. They moved to Fort Worth, Texas to be closer to family after her diagnosis in 2018.

A celebration of life will take place on August 19, 2024 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fort Worth. Debby will be interred at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery upon the death of her husband.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Colonel (Ret) Joseph Pappe, Jr.; daughter, Jennifer Johnson; son, Kieran (Brian) Bromley; grandchildren, Nicholas, Nathaniel and Caroline Johnson; sisters, Mary Greenwald and Kathy Robinson; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association or your favorite charity.
