Fermin was a wonderful artist and friend and 10 years after we lost him, I still think of him and what a great man and artist he was. A terrible loss

A few days ago Ken looked up at the three Fermin's hanging above our living room and said "Can you believe how beautiful they are in this light?"
They are beautiful and so was Fermin.
We miss him but continue to be graced by his amazing artwork.

So many years have passed and still your impact is with me. I see things differently now, the shadows and light. I am thankful that we had time together.

It saddens me to just be reading his obituary today, as I was planning to see Fermins latest art pieces. I loved and love his art work that I have purchased in the past.
My first purchase was back in the late 80s and 90s, when he was still in his pastel period and into his beautiful vibrant color phase.
I am a proud owner of at least 8 works of his beautiful works.
To his family and his friends, may he be Resting In Peace among the other talented artists in Heaven.

We are shocked and so saddened to learn that Fermin is no longer with us lighting up our lives with his talent and creativity. We own at least a dozen pieces of his artwork which are displayed throughout our home and our a source of great joy for us daily.

What a wonderful talent and great person.

Words are inadequate.

We lived in Albuquerque for many years and became familiar with Fermin's work, to the point that every year we gave his work as Christmas gifts to others and ourselves, marking anniversaries, birthdays and many times just because we loved the work and enjoyed talking to Fermin. It was a practice we retained after we left Albuquerque in 2006. Words fail to convey the loss that his passing represents. Our prayers and thoughts to his entire family.

Such sad news. I bought one his early screen prints on my first solo trip to New Mexico in 1987. On my second visit, he had the gallery in Old Town and my wife & met him and bought another and he was kind enough to invite us to his home and studio for dinner. We discovered an affinity for old toy trucks and jazz. We have bought several other pieces over the years and I had hoped one day to see him again in Old Town.
His life continues in the spirit he gave to his art.

I am so sorry to hear this. We will always remember wandering through Old Town and being drawn into the gallery by the image we say through the open doorway. The many pieces we purchased over the years will also remind us of Fermin's talent and the afternoon together we spent at the gallery together on our last visit.

His work, along with a wonderful peice from his son, takes up many walls in my home. The simple beauty of the pieces is priceless. My consolances to the family and may he rest in peace

I am shocked and saddened by the news of Fermin. We have several of his pieces and always loved visiting him while in the area. Our first meeting was a late evening stroll in Old Town Albq. I fell in love with work in his window. He was still in the studio and saw us, invited us in for a glass of wine, and to chat. Of course we bought a print or two. I will never ever forget this talented man and his warmth and charisma. He is in heaven with my husband --- still loving bright colors and watching over us. I feel honored to have his work with me daily. God bless him and his family. May his light shine forever, Jane Welihozkiy, SC

We met Fermin as he was painting the walls in his new gallery. (I think it was in Old Town). We were on vacation and were newbies to the art world. When we got back home to AZ we knew we couldn't live without his De La Escalera print. It was our 1st piece of art. Visiting over the years, under his guidance, we added a wonderful collection of his creations. He holds a special place in our hearts. Our sincere condolences to his family and friends. He will be sorely missed.

I met Fermin and learned of his work from my friends, Mike & Linda Kelly. Throughout my eight years in New Mexico I collected numerous pieces and attended many many Champagne openings. I will treasure my collection and it and Fermin will have a place in my heart and home forever. Condolences to family and a special hug to Emily and Ehren.

Cousin Fermin came to Colorado for education in his art career. Fermin stayed with mom and dad till he found place to live and practice His art. We would work at the sporting events for extra money. The chilie pepper and several other bar and restaurants were always a enjoyable relaxation after working the Broncos games. It was a kick hanging out with Fermin and exploring the college nite life in the downtown Denver area. Thank you for all the memories.
