Frank Zaccaria Obituary
Frank Michael Zaccaria Sr. went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, after a long illness, at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Rochester, NY, on October 6, 1940, and came to Albuquerque with the family in 1951. He graduated from Highland High School in 1958. He spent eight years as a police officer with the Albuquerque Police Department. In 1969, he became an Air Traffic Controller at the Albuquerque Air Route Traffic Control Center. He retired after 28 years with the last few years as a supervisor.
He was passionate about music and composing on his piano. Later, becoming a prolific composer of electronic music. He also enjoyed carpentry work in his garage.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cosmo and Rose Zaccaria.
Frank is survived by his wife, Christine Zaccaria; children, Frank Wilkerson (Eden), Steve Wilkerson, Debbie Ecton (Brent), Tony Zaccaria, Tina Greenwood, and Frank Zaccaria, Jr.; and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family is especially grateful and thankful to Harmony Home Hospice for their loving care.
Funeral services will be held at St Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114, on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at 10:00 am. In our senior year (1958) Frank formed a dance combo and we played a few 'gigs' to make some spending cash. Frank was an excellent musician, playing trumpet at the time. It was fun while it lasted and I thought of those days from time to time. Rest in peaceful dreams, Frank.
